1. Introduction
SeedUML takes your privacy seriously. The entire product is built around a zero-trust architecture: your diagram data stays in your browser by default. Nothing is collected, transmitted, or stored unless you explicitly choose otherwise.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
To be clear about what we don't do:
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your diagram source code
- We do not use cookies for tracking
- We do not have user accounts or authentication on the Playground
- We do not use analytics tracking — no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties for advertising
3. Data We Collect
We only collect data when you explicitly choose to share it. Here is exactly what, when, and why.
a) Report Issue Submissions (voluntary)
When you use the "Report Issue" feature, you choose to send us the following:
- Anonymized diagram source code — you review this before submitting
- Anonymized SVG render — the rendered output of your diagram
- Diagram type and SeedUML version
- Problem description — free text that you write
- Contact email — optional, only if you provide it
- Submission timestamp and source — whether it came from the Playground or Jira plugin
This data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (EU region) for the sole purpose of improving rendering quality. It is retained until the reported issue is resolved, then deleted.
b) Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot)
The Report Issue form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare may collect your IP address and browser metadata for bot detection purposes. This is handled entirely by Cloudflare and is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
c) Cloudflare Pages Hosting
The SeedUML website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare collects standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) as part of normal web hosting. This data is controlled by Cloudflare, not by SeedUML, and is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
4. Jira Plugin
The SeedUML for Jira plugin runs entirely within the Atlassian Forge sandbox. Here is what that means for your data:
- Diagram data is stored in Atlassian's Forge Storage, not on SeedUML servers
- SeedUML has no access to your Jira data outside of what the Forge platform provides to the plugin
- All rendering happens client-side in your browser by default
- Data handling is subject to Atlassian's Privacy Policy and your organization's data residency controls
When you explicitly choose "Server" rendering mode in the plugin (it's off by default), your diagram source code is sent to an external service for rendering:
- PlantUML diagrams are sent to plantuml.com
- Mermaid diagrams are sent to mermaid.ink
This is entirely opt-in. The default rendering mode is local (in your browser). These third-party services have their own privacy policies that apply when you use them.
5. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Local rendering is the default — your diagrams never leave your browser unless you choose otherwise
- Request deletion — if you submitted a Report Issue and want it deleted, email us and we will remove it
- No account lock-in — there are no accounts, so there is nothing to delete
6. Children's Privacy
SeedUML is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Report Issue form, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We recommend checking this page periodically.
8. Contact
